Louis Pasteur once said, “Chance favors the prepared mind.” In this course, your own mind will be prepared to handle the chance events that arise in life by offering a grounding in Interpersonal Neurobiology as a framework that builds on the many disciplines of science to create a foundation for understanding what the mind is, what a healthy mind entails, and how to cultivate mental health and resilience in your own life and in the lives of others. The inside out perspective is to know this framework conceptually and then learn practical ways of applying this perspective in your personal and professional worlds.
By the end of this course you will be
- In-depth exploration of Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), an interdisciplinary, scientific framework
- Review core aspects of the mind, the embodied brain, and our interpersonal relationships
- Examine practical applications that emerge from the central concept of integration, the linkage of differentiated elements with one another
- Discuss strategies for intervention, including how we focus our attention and communicate effectively within relationships
